Papa's Most Favorite Breakfast

Image
My father's most favorite breakfast showed his philosophy of eating well and eating light. Made of vegetables (carrots, peas, corn, cut string/green beans, and potatoes), it was held together by Heinz salad cream, which I found in an African grocery store.      I served this delicious and nutritious breakfast to my father with slices of the dome bread my mother baked in her bakery (Virgy's Bakery) and with a cup of tea. Thank God I have wonderful memories of a loving and peaceful relationship to see me through death's devastation.   --Frances Ohanenye maintains this site. I Love Vegetables and Mushroom Stew

Image
My daughter is on a 21-day no-meat-no-fish cleansing diet. I tried to find things that do not have meat in them and decided to prepare mushroom stew. I remember buying the bottled mushroom spaghetti sauces way back when, but this one is all fresh: mushrooms, tomatoes, herbs, and spices.     Broccoli, pinto beans, buttery spinach, white rice, and mushroom sauce/stew     --Frances Ohanenye maintains this site. Dark Berries Dominate Juice Colors

Blackberries Add mandarin orange and pineapple.       Invariably, the dark fruit overpowers the other fruits' colors. Invariably. --Frances Ohanenye maintains this site. I Had a Cake Decorating Business on the Side

Image
I created many cakes for customers when I had my catering business. Also, Cassie used to volunteer me for anything relating to baking that her class wanted. On one of those days, I made this huge cake and asked each child what he/she wanted on it. As you can see, it was a very busy cake with clowns sitting and lying down in different positions, different colors and types of flowers, and other figures. I used to decorate cakes with tropical/beach ornaments (below left).    For whatever reason, the person who ordered this birthday cake (above) ordered another (below left) the following year and wanted his name spelled exactly criss-crossed but in different colors.   Beautiful bunches of roses (above right) for a client's 8th wedding anniversary celebration.  I made this cake (below left) for Cassie's 2nd grade class of 12, less busy than her kindergarten class of nearly 30 students. This Cinderella character cake (right) was Cassie's favorite
