Healthy Living

Books, the internet, and natural knowledge endow us with the need to pursue a life filled with eating well. Different people have different concepts of what eating well entails. Regardless of who is putting forth the information, wisdom dictates that eating well must consist of low calories, a high intake of vegetables, moderation in fruits, dairy, and grains, and little or no meats and fish. Due to the naturally high sugar content of fruits, they must be consumed with care.

Eating well cannot exist in isolation of some sort of exercise no matter how short or quick. Walking is the most beneficial exercise since it requires no financial investment in equipment.

Eating well shuns any artificial and processed foods, soda/pop and other UN-natural drinks, and packaged and canned goods.

The U.S. Health and Human Services gives precise instructions on how to eat healthily and how to live a healthy lifestyle. It would appear that common knowledge should teach us this simple fact, but human beings are frail mortals who give in to detrimental habits.

As we strive to eat well, we may come upon stumbling blocks. Hence I introduce the concept of an Open-source recipe. In pursuit of eating well, it might be impossible to find certain food items where we live. Open-source recipe means that local herbs and spices can replace and season the foods featured on this site according to one's culture or taste.

See Open-source Recipe under the Open Source Cooking tab.

Disclaimer: Please do not cook all the egg dishes within days or weeks. The egg dishes featured here were prepared over the course of many weekends, over many, many months. Some are egg-white-only dishes and most are low cholesterol (one egg white and one whole egg) dishes.
